History of Nishihara Shokai

Nishihara Shokai was established in December 1971.

Established as a limited company, Nishihara Shokai was founded in Murasakibaru, Kagoshima city with a capital of 500,000yen. The 3 founders were Kazuyoshi Nishihara, current chairman, the late Kiichiro Nishihara (Kazuyoshi’s father) and the late Mr. Yokoyama.

With vast knowledge in food products, Kiichiro and his team started Nishihara Shokai with one vehicle and rented a private house the size of 6 tatami mats which was used as office and warehouse.

After 3 months from establishment, his second son Masanobu joined followed by third and fourth son, Hisami and Yuji further increasing sales of the company.

After 4 years, the company relocated to a new building and set up its first branch downtown Kagoshima. Each salesman approached small cafeterias and restaurants with quality service and efficiency leading to further growth of the company.

In 1981, the company was divided into Nishihara Shokai and Nishihara Shokuhin Kogyo with the establishment of head office in 1-10-21 Yojiro, Kagoshima City.

Meanwhile the company had spread out nationwide from Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Fukuoka, Oita, Okinawa and other Kyushu cities following Hiroshima, Matsue, Yamaguchi, Shikoku area opening its first Tokyo branch in 1999.

And now the group has been formed as below.

Nishihara Shokai, Nishihara Shokai Kyushu, Nishihara Shokai Chugoku, Nishihara Shokai Kansai, Nishihara Shokai Tokai and Nishihara Shokai Kanto with branches nationwide.

Furthermore, we have established factories nationwide processing high quality food products to satisfy customer needs. Our factory sales are also continuously growing.

In 2020, our head office in Kagoshima will be rebuilt and would take on the challenges of continuous growth and evolution.
