Nishihara Shokai was established in December 1971 in Kagoshima city.
With a capital of five hundred thousand yen, the company started as a limited company founded by the present CEO, Kazuyoshi Nishihara and his late father Kiichiro Nishihara and former clerk Yokoyama.
Kiichiro with his extensive knowledge in the food business started off in a small rented house of 18 square meters which was used both as an office and warehouse. Delivery to customers was done with only one truck during that time.
3 months later, of the 4 sons he had, his second son, Masanobu joined the company. Later on his third son Hisami and forth son Yuji followed and sales began to grow.
After four years in 1975, a new warehouse was built in the heart of Kagoshima city. Great effort was placed by each salesman servicing small restaurants in the area which led to rapid expansion in the business.
In 1981, the company was reformed as a joint stock company and moved to its present location in Yojiro, Kagoshima.
During this time the companyfs sales area had spread through Kumamoto, Miyazaki,
Fukuoka, Oita, Okinawa in Kyusyu and Hiroshima, Matsue, Yamaguchi in the
And in 1999, our first Kanto branch was opened.
